The North Carolina Division of IAAP is sponsoring its 2012 Leadership and Education Forum (LEF) to be held at the Embassy Suites-RTP, 201 Harrison Oaks Blvd., Cary, NC, on Friday and Saturday, February 24-25, 2012.  We would love to have you join us!  You will enjoy the great speakers presenting four seminars that will offer 1.5 recertification points each!  Topics include Meeting Planning 101,Taking Charge of Your Career, The Foundation of a Great Resume and Five Powerful Interview Tactics, and Moral Courage and Legal Professionalism. During our Vendor/Ways and Means Expo you can visit various vendors from the local area as well as help the NCD chapters add funds to their treasuries.  A new item being featured this year at LEF is the opportunity to have a professional headshot made during the Vendor Expo on Friday for the minimal cost of $10 each.  You can sign up for this on the registration form.  Our Student Clothes Closet will provide gently used business attire and accessories for students and members who may need clothing for work or interviewing.  A Silent Auction will be held on Friday night at our Evening of Welcome, and I’m sure you will enjoy the special entertainment that is planned.   Those who have certified or recertified during the year will be honored at our Certification Recognition Luncheon on Saturday.  We plan to adjourn by 2:00 p.m., so you will still have time to go shopping in the Raleigh area if you wish.

Make your reservations now by calling the hotel directly at 919.677.1840, or you may call 1.800.362.2779.  Be sure to reference the International Association of Administrative Professionals conference when you make your reservations.  Rates for suites of $119 per night are based on single or double occupancy (maximum of four per room).  All suites are non-smoking and have either a king bed or two queen beds.  Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel.  Rates include your complimentary full cooked-to-order breakfast served each morning from 7:30-9:00 in the lush open-air atrium.  The Manager’s Reception for hotel guests each evening from 5:30-7:30 features your favorite beverages and hors d’oeuvres. Other amenities include a beautiful indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, fitness center, lighted tennis courts, full-size activity court featuring basketball and volleyball, nearby golf courses, and parks with walking and hiking trails.  Bistro in the Park offers fine dining in a casual setting with an open-air kitchen that serves the finest steaks, fresh seafood and specialty pastas.  The Crystal Falls Lounge offers lighter fare in a relaxed atrium setting.  Room reservation deadline for the special block of rooms is February 2.

You can find the 2012 Leadership and Education Forum Registration Form with mailing directions, the Agenda, Speaker Information Sheet, and the Invitational Letter on the NCD website.  Member/Student and Non-Member Registration Fees are shown on the registration form.  Full registration for IAAP professional members is $95.00, $75.00 for student members, advisors, and merited members, and $115.00 for members-at-large.  Partial reservations are also available.  Final registration deadline is February 17, 2012.

Professional Business Dress is required for all seminars and for the Certification Recognition Luncheon.  Business Casual is appropriate for the Evening of Welcome.  Please - no jeans, tee shirts or sneakers!

FROM THE WEST: Exit toward I-40 Eastbound and proceed to Exit 287, Harrison Avenue.  Turn right at the top of the ramp.  After the first light, turn right onto Harrison Oaks Boulevard.  The hotel is located 1/4 mile on the right.  Look for the Embassy Suites sign.

FROM THE EAST: Exit toward I-40 Westbound, take Exit 287, Harrison Avenue.  Turn left at the top of the ramp.  After the second light, turn right onto Harrison Oaks Boulevard.  The hotel is located 1/4 mile on the right.  Look for the Embassy Suites sign.
