The Power of Commitment

NC Division 2010 Leadership and Education Forum

Sheraton Atlantic Beach Oceanfront Hotel

Atlantic Beach, NC

March 19-20, 2010

You are cordially invited to attend the 2010 NCD Leadership and Education Forum which will be held Friday and Saturday, March 19-20, 2010 at the Sheraton Atlantic Beach Oceanfront Hotel, 2717 West Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend this exciting and educational event – at the BEACH!  We will begin our forum on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with a seminar entitled The Energy Bus, presented by   Sherry Vaughn, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Spartanburg Community College.  Following the seminar, there will be a Vendor/Ways and Means Office Expo and our “Student Clothes Closet”.  From 4:30-5:30 p.m., an optional leadership/succession planning workshop for current or potential chapter leaders will be conducted by Dianne M. Hughes CPS/CAP, 2008-2009 Past Division President.   We will close Friday out with our Evening of Welcome which will include dinner, a silent auction and awesome student entertainment.  An additional element of fun has been added to the evening this year.  Each chapter in attendance is encouraged to participate in a Mountains to the Sea table decorating competition.  Our Division Vice President, Sandy Stotesbury CPS/CAP, has sent all the details to your chapter president.

We will begin our Saturday with Making the Commitment to Professionalism presented by one of our favorite and most requested presenters, Mr. Mike Collins, President of the Perfect Workday Company.  Our Certification Luncheon will follow where we will have the opportunity to not only recognize all members who have recently achieved certification or recertification, but we will also recognize our student members and award the one time Dianne M. Hughes CPS/CAP Student Scholarship.  REMINDER:  It is not too late for chapters to donate to this scholarship fund.  Send your contributions by February 15th to NCD Treasurer, Norma Bain CPS/CAP (325 Iverleigh Lane, Jacksonville, NC  28540).  Keynote speaker for the luncheon will be one of our newly certified members, Denise Brumfield-Steele CPS/CAP.

Now, tell me where else can you get such an educational opportunity and a weekend at the beach for only $95 registration and $85-$169.00 for an oceanview/oceanfront hotel room (or suite), which you can share with two to four of your closest friends?  This is also a great opportunity for you to encourage non-IAAP members that you know or work with to join you for the weekend - $115 for two days of professional education and networking is a bargain!

Attached are the registration form, preliminary agenda, and seminar/speaker information.  Included below is information regarding room reservations and the dress code for this event.  We hope that you will begin NOW to make plans to join your North Carolina Board of Directors as we bring the POWER OF COMMITMENT to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.  Complete your registration form today and mail it to Norma Bain CPS/CAP (NCD Treasurer) or register online at www.iaap-nc.org.    FINAL Registration deadline is March 12, 2010!!  PLEASE NOTE:  Our NCD Treasurer must receive your registration on or before March 12 – registrations received online or by mail after this date will not be accepted.
