The good news is that I won't have to listen to that silly blackberry chirp at me at 6am after today.

The bad news is that means this is my last day in Joberg.

Yesterday Racheal mentioned that Friday would be a T-shirt day (all attendees got a T-shirt with the AMC logo) so I know I can 'dress down' this morning.  Good thing, too, because I'm starting to feel a bit tired today. [more]

The Spring Conference in Reno, Nevada is off to a wonderful start!  We number about 160 in attendance at this conference; a small group, but everyone is very nice, and the smaller number will give us a chance to actually get to know more people.

Our speaker on Day One, Jan Harrison, covered a wide range of areas in her session "How to Create Job Security In An Unsecure Economy... One Relationship At A Time".  We learned how to create positive workplace relationships; how to deal with difficult people; how to establish rapport; collaboration areas; communicating across generations and personality types; how to persuade and influence others to our way of thinking; gaining buy-in for our ideas; building bridges; and also stress reducers for staying healthy in our demanding jobs.  WHEW!   So much information in one day, but it was all presented in such a way that we were all present and engaged for the full day.
