NOMINATIONS FOR DIVISION OFFICE
OFFICIAL NOTICE: In accordance with the Division Bylaws Article IV, Section 3.C, Committee on Nominations, you are hereby notified that names of candidates for office in the association may be submitted for consideration beginning immediately.
POSTMARK/ELECTRONIC DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: JANUARY 31, 2010. (Please submit earlier if possible.)
CANDIDATES FOR DIVISION OFFICE
Offices Eligible for Candidates: President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer (see Article IV, Section 1.)
Qualifications: Article IV, Section 2.A, B, and C.
A. A candidate for office shall have served as a Chapter Officer or Division Director.
B. No officer shall hold office in any Regular Chapter or serve on an International Committee for longer than two (2) months while serving as a Division Officer. No officer shall hold more than one (1) Division office at a time.
C. A candidate for the Office of President or President-Elect shall have served as a member of the Board of Directors of this Division for at least one (1) full year prior to the time of election.
Nomination and Election: Article IV, Section 3.A and B, Nomination of Candidates.
A. Any Chapter, by vote of its membership, may nominate any one of its Professional members as a candidate for a Division office. The candidate’s name shall be submitted to each member of the Division Committee on Nominations on the Letter of Nomination Form signed by the nominee’s Chapter President or by the Division President for a Division Member at Large.
1. Such Letter of Nomination Form shall state: Name, Address, and Chapter affiliation of the candidate, qualifications, and educational, professional, and IAAP background.
2. Such Letter of Nomination Form shall contain the candidate’s written consent to serve if elected, the candidate’s platform and a recent photograph.
B. Nominations may be made from the floor by Delegates at the Annual Meeting provided the nominee is a Professional Member and has consented to serve if elected and provided that written qualifications are given to the Delegates at the Meeting. Nominations from the floor must receive two (2) seconds.
A candidate to be nominated from the floor shall deliver a Letter of Nomination for Division Office to the Division Committee on Nominations at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the start of the Annual Division Meeting activities. The Committee on Nominations will provide the information to the Delegates twelve (12) hours prior to the business session.

Promotional literature, materials, or campaign publicity of any type concerning a candidate for Division Officer shall not be distributed in any way to any IAAP unit or member prior to Division Annual Meeting and shall not be posted or distributed at any meeting site. No chapter or individual shall host a reception or other gathering on behalf of any candidate for Division Office prior to the final declaration of election. Any incident will be referred to the Committee on Nominations for possible disciplinary action up to and including disqualification of the candidate involved.
